Specialist Task Force STF606:
OpenAPI and Protocol Buffer descriptions for MEC APIs

Who we are:

STF Steering Committee:

What we do

The objective of STF606 is to develop, enhance and maintain the OpenAPI™ Specification (OAS) and protocol buffer language (proto3) representations of existing and new ETSI MEC API specifications.
The OAS/Proto3 representations are especially useful for implementers, since they can be used to auto-generate client and server code with the help of existing toolchains (specifically the communication stubs).

For more details, see our Terms of Reference

Why we do it

The ETSI MEC specifications are referenced and used by operators, vendors and open-source communities involved in MEC deployments. Developers can browse and download OAS/protobuf compliant descriptions for these APIs on the ETSI Forge platform .
As the ETSI MEC specifications continue to develop, it is considered essential that up-to-date representations of the associated APIs in the OAS language are made available (through the work of this STF) to facilitate faster integration of these APIs in industry products and prototypes. Furthermore, this machine-readable form of the MEC specifications is essential in automating the development of API conformance test suites.

How we do it

The STF is composed of technical experts from Nextworks and xFlow Research Inc.  who will, in coordination with the MEC DECODE Working Group and STF Steering Committee, update and generate the OAS and Proto3 representations with the goal of making OAS and Proto3 representations available on ETSI Forge platform.

Deliverables

This STF will deliver the OAS/Proto3 descriptions for the following documents.
