Specialist Task Force 387:
Interworking between Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Bearer
Independent Call Control Protocol (BICC) or ISDN
User Part (ISUP)for Profile C
Who we are:
Team Leader: Bostjan Pintar
Team Members: Axel Rennoch
Yann Garcia
Dirk Tepelmann
Iztok Juvancic
Why we do it:
In April 2007 the development of
the first TISPAN abstract test suite (ATS) on interworking between SIP and
ISUP/BICC for profile C have been finished under STF310. Extension of this
project started again in October 2009 with validation on specific product.
The outcome of the STF will be a new
version of following deliverables, for TB approval:
- RTS/TISPAN-06028-3-NGN: maintenance
of TSS&TP (186 002-3) (Telecommunications and Internet Converged
Services and Protocols for Advanced Networking (TISPAN);
Interworking between Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
and Bearer Independent Call Control Protocol (BICC) or ISDN User
Part (ISUP); Part 3: Test Suite Structure and Test Purposes
(TSS&TP) for Profile C)
- RTS/TISPAN-06028-5-NGN: maintenance
of ATS&PIXIT (186 002-5) (Telecommunications and Internet
converged Services and Protocols for Advanced Networking
(TISPAN); Interworking between Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
and Bearer Independent Call Control Protocol (BICC) or ISDN
UserPart (ISUP); Part 5: Abstract Test Suite (ATS) and partial
Protocol Implementation eXtra Information for Testing (PIXIT)
for Profile C)
The Abstract Test Suites (ATS) that will be included
in the deliverables implement a standardized set of test
purposes on the related protocol specifications using the
Testing and Test Control Notation TTCN-3.

Terms of Reference
How we do it:
Experience with the
development of TTCN-3 test suite has shown the need for validation sessions.
Validation sessions are restricted to the abilities of the available Systems
under Test. Due to the use of the ATS in other test environments in practice
there be some additional findings within the standardized test specification
that need to be corrected and validated for future public use.
Time plan for the work:
We intend to complete
our work by March 2010.
