News - online survey:

You are welcome to contribute to our work by filling in our on-line survey.

The present survey will collect input on information and preferences which play a role in the personalization of eHealth systems. We are very interested in your views and would appreciate if you could take a few moments to complete this questionnaire. Your views are valuable and will help us to drive our work.

Thanks in advance!

Why we do it:

Personalization and effective user profile management will be critical to achieve eInclusion and eAccessibility as it will be important that products and services can match the needs of every user, even when those needs may be different from those of the majority of users. The objective of this work is to show how  the goal of the new ICT era, where services and devices within eHealth can be personalized by the users in order to meet the individual users' requirements and needs, can be achieved.

Background and main outcome:

An ETSI guide on "User Profile Management" (EG 202 325) describes guidelines for managing user profiles, and serves as background for the current work. Furthermore, the recently finished ETSI work (STF 342) on general user profile management has developed two documents:

  • a Technical Specification (TS 102 747) on “Architectural Framework”, which was published in December 2009,
  • an ETSI Standard (ES 202 746 ) on “User Profile Preferences and Information”, which was published in February 2010.

The current STF 352 was partly running in parallel to that STF, and will result in specifications of user profile information and preferences that are specific for personalization within the eHealth domain, see current draft.

Your comments/input to our work is welcome!

The technical content will be developed through consultation, workshops, studies and desk-based research.

Time plan for the work:

The STF will be reporting the milestones to the ETSI Technical Bodies Human Factors (HF) and eHealth. The work will proceed according to the following time schedule:

  • Work has begun in April 2008-04-27
  • Initial draft reported to TC HF#47, 6-10 October and EP eHealth 2008
  • Final draft submitted to ETSI HF and eHealth for approval in June 2010

Do you want to:

1. receive the newsletter from our STF (about once a month, or when relevant)?

2. discuss personalization and user profiles with a wider group?
