Why we do it:

Personalization and effective user profile management will be critical to achieve eInclusion and eAccessibility. The objective of this work was to provide means to achieve the goal of the new ICT era where services and devices can be personalized by the users in order to meet the individual users’ requirements and needs, in various situations.

News: The deliverables have been published. Thanks to stakeholders who have contributed to our work!

I am pleased to let you know that the ETSI Human Factors (STF 342) work on personalization and user profiles has been completed. Two deliverables have been published:

  • ETSI Technical Specification (TS 102 747) on architectural framework. The TS has been published on the 11th December 2009.
  • ETSI Standard (ES 202 746) on User Profile Preferences and Information. The ES was published on the 18th February 2010.

We wish to thank all stakeholders who have contributed with input and comments to our work!

We also wish to remind our stakeholders about the still ongoing work on personalization of eHealth services and devices, where you are very welcome to contribute with your input and comments! For further details see the web page on eHealth personalization. What we do:

The ETSI STF 265 on "User Profile Management" produced an ETSI Guide EG 202 325, that described the concept and established a set of guidelines relevant to users and their need for managing their user profiles to personalize their services and terminals. It is necessary that different services and terminals understand users’ preferences and offer an expected user experience. This STF has therefore built on the results from STF 265 and performed further standardization work. This STF is co-funded by EC/EFTA.
