The purpose of conformance testing is to determine to what extent a single
implementation of a particular standard conforms to the individual requirements
of that standard and can hence be used for certification schemes. The
deliverables of this projects, which are the CAM, DENM, BTP, GN and GN6
validation reports will summarize the experience gained of running conformance
tests against Industry Implementations. C2C CC has become observer of this
project as it is especially interested to evaluate the Conformance Test
Platform.

The OSS ASN.1 Tools, available for C, C++, C#, and Java, offer a powerful
development package for building ASN.1-based applications.
These tools, ported to over 250 platforms, provide true ASN.1 2002, 1997,
and 1990 support for all ASN.1 encoding rules.
OSS ASN.1 products meet the most demanding needs of organizations
worldwide and have been selected for applications such as: 3G & 4G Mobile
Systems (3GPP), Security and Financial Services, Telecommunication Networks,
Space Communication, Military applications, Intelligent Transportation (ITS) and
many more.
What we do:
This project is going to build a conformance test platform. The conformance test
platform will integrate the different ITS test suites and will allow running
conformance tests against ITS equipment.
The aim of this project is to validate the test specifications and to validate
the ITS communication layer base standards and thus supporting the
standardization process.
This project will provide the conformance test platform to vendors wishing to
assess the level of compliance of their equipment.
The conformance test platform is a reference implementation and available to all
users. It can be used for certification purposes. Also, with its high degree of
extensibility, it can be used for company internal testing. This project is a
proof of concept (POC) that creating industry test standards is beneficial for
the standardization process, the vendors and the regulators.

Deliverables and Time Plan:
This project will deliver CAM, DENM, BTP, GN and GN6 validation reports listing
issues detected in the test and base specifications.
In addition all the software and documentation developed in the context of this
project will be made available.
This project started in March 2011 and runs until mid 2012. Progress reports
will be provided for each ETSI TC ITS meeting within this time period.
