Specialist Task Force 348:
Maintenance of ATS Interworking between Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and
Bearer Independent Call Control
Protocol or ISDN User Part, Profile A and B
Part 4 (TS 186 002-4)
Who we are:
Axel Rennoch (Fraunhofer FOKUS).
Supported by (voluntary work): Iztok Juvancic (Iskratel) and Bostjan Pintar (Sintesio).
What we do:
In April 2007
the development and validation of the first TISPAN abstract test suite (ATS) on
interworking between SIP and ISUP/BICC have been finished (published as
TS 186 002-4).
After this time the outcoming TTCN-3 code have continuously been used by ETSI
members and other ETSI STFs. It is the purpose of this STF is to consider
reported change requests, other observations and required consolidations for an
update of the present document. All changes in TTCN-3 are subject of a
validation.
The outcome of
the STF will be a new version of the Technical Specification TS
186 002-4
on “Conformance
Test Specifications for SIP-ISUP Interworking; Part
4: Abstract Test Suite (ATS) and partial Protocol Implementation eXtra
Information for Testing (PIXIT) for Profile A and B".

Why we do it:
Experience
with the development of TTCN-3 test suites have shown the need for validation
sessions. Validation sessions are restricted to the abilities of the available
Systems under Test. Due to the use of the ATS in other test environments in
practice there be some additional findings within the standardized test
specification that need to be corrected and validated for future public use.
Time plan for the work:
We intend to
complete our work by August 2008.
