Terms of Reference for TC ERM Working Group (WG) 17: PMSE and broadcast equipment/services

1           Tasks:

The task of TC ERM WG 17 is the preparation of Harmonised Standards covering the essential requirements of article 3.2 of Directive 2014/53/EU as well as other deliverable types for:

• Broadcast transmitters and receivers, sound and vision, using analogue or digital modulation, in collaboration with JTC Broadcast;


• PMSE equipment, including but not limited to: video and audio, hearing aid systems including inductive loops and ALDs;


• Domestic radio and TV masthead amplifiers and associated equipment.

2           Remarks:

External liaison with JTC Broadcast and other bodies such as GRSC will be established as appropriate.

Overlap with the work performed in other ETSI Technical Groups which produce generic deliverables covering PMSE among other applications in more generic frequency bands will be prevented.

Horizontal aspects related to EMC and radio spectrum matters will be deferred to TC ERM WG EMC and TC ERM WG RM respectively.
