Introduction

The Board is a body that acts on behalf of the General Assembly between General Assembly meetings by exercising those powers and functions that are delegated to it by the General Assembly. The Board’s powers and functions are subject to periodic review by the General Assembly.

The task of the Board is to take action on issues delegated to it by the General Assembly, and to be acted upon on behalf of the General Assembly. 

The Board’s duties include the bringing of matters deemed of policy and strategic importance to the attention of the General Assembly.

The Board’s duties also include those provisions of advice, proposals and decisions on, matters relating to the financial, technical and administrative functions contained in resolutions taken by the General Assembly.
