ERM SUMMARY Chairman: Gabrielle Owen       ETSI ERM is a "horizontal" technical committee that is responsible for the standardization of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and radio spectrum matters on behalf of all other technical bodies of ETSI. The work of ETSI ERM can be considered in three main areas: 1. Electromagnetic Compatibility The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) working group is responsible for all ETSI Harmonised Standards related to the EMC Directive (2004/108/EC) and article 3.1b of the R&TTE Directive (1999/5/EC). This group is also responsible for liaison on behalf of ETSI with CENELEC on EMC issues and with CISPR. 2. Radio Spectrum Matters The Radio Matters (RM) working group is responsible for co-operation with the European Communications Committee (ECC) to secure appropriate spectrum allocations in the CEPT countries for standardised systems, in order to ensure co-existence between different communications systems standardised by ETSI. 3. Task Group activities ERM has a number of task groups which are set up on a short-term basis to deal with particular issues, and which disband on the resolution of the task.  Aeronautical radio (TG25) Maritime radio (TG26) Amateur radio (TG26) Standardisation of land-mobile radio, including Wideband data systems (TG11), generic short-range devices (TG28), Ultra Wide Band for telecommunications and radiolocations activities (TG UWB), RF Identification Devices (TG34) and Harmonised Standards for IMT-2000 equipment (TFES) Automotive and Surveillance Radar including Ultra WideBand Radars (TG SRR) Wireless medical devices (TG30) Broadcast and ancillary equipment (TG17) Radio Site Engineering (TG27) Intelligent Transport Systems (TG37) ERM Radio Project activities ("old" RP groups) no longer exist as they were divided into task groups after ERM meeting #16.  ERM Task Groups Terms of Reference Draft Guide for Task Group Rapporteurs   ETSI TC ERM is responsible for 75% of standards being developed under the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive (1999/5/EC).
