Analogue
Radio Broadcasting
ETSI’s
work in analogue radio broadcasting includes system standards (and associated
codes of practice) and standards for radio transmitters. Standards for radio
receivers are published by
CENELEC.
Transmitting equipment
ETSI has developed Harmonized Standards enabling analogue
radio broadcasting transmitters to be placed on the market under the
R&TTE Directive.
Electromagnetic
compatibility (article 3.1b of the Directive):
- EN 301 489-1 (05/09/2005) covers EMC
requirements for general radio equipment (This standard is
currently under revision)
- EN 301 489-14 (09/05/2003) covers
specific EMC requirements for both AM and FM broadcast transmitters
(This standard is currently under revision).
Avoidance of harmful
interference to radio services (article 3.2 of the Directive):
- EN 302 017 (05/09/2005) covers requirements for Amplitude Modulated (AM) radio broadcast
transmitters.
- EN 302 018 (01/03/2006)covers
requirements for Frequency Modulated (FM) radio broadcast equipments.
Standards for safety are available from
CENELEC, with input from ETSI.
