Terms of Reference Technical Committee (TC) on Satellite Earth Stations and Systems (SES)

Scope

Responsible for satellite systems and earth stations.

Areas of activity

  • Satellite communication systems, and applications including fixed, mobile, broadcasting, navigation systems, inter-satellite links (RF and optical) and space operations.
  • The radio frequency interfaces, network and user interfaces of earth stations and their equipment.
  • Protocols implemented in satellite systems and earth stations
  • Annex (informative): collaboration with other bodies

TC SES will set-up the appropriate communication channels to the following groups both within and outside of ETSI.

ETSI groups

  • TC SES will set up appropriate communication channels to other technical bodies within ETSI and will inform and consult them on the work of the TC.

External groups

  • Liaise via ERM with CEPT on satellite related matters.
  • Contribute to the position of ETSI, with respect to satellite related matters, towards external bodies, such as the ITU and 3GPP.
