Past Test Events

6LoWPAN Plugtests

Date: 27 – 28 July 2013,
Location: Berlin , Germany, co-located with IETF#87

The 6LoWPAN is a key component building the future "Internet of Things" where smart objects become IP enabled and are form an integral part of the Internet.

The 6LoWPAN Plugtests has focused on the interoperability of the IETF 6LoWPAN standards. This Plugtests event has allowed participants to assess the interoperability of different 6LoWPAN implementations focusing on Header Compression (RFC 6282), Neighbor Discovery (RFC 6775) and Frame Format.

See 6LoWPAN Plugtests Event Page for more information.

RFID Brazil Plugtests

Date: 20 – 24 May 2013,
Location: Campinas , Brazil

This Plugtests event was organized by ETSI in co-operation with the FP7 Probe-IT project and was hosted from 20-24 May 2013 at the CPqD Head Quarters, in Campinas, Brazil. It combined interoperability testing, technology evaluation and coexistence aspects of RFID tags and readers.

The tests focused on 4 main areas:

  1. A comparison between the FHSS method of operation used in the Americas and the four channel plan adopted by Europe.
  2. ETSI demonstration of the operation of mitigation techniques which have been designed to enable RFID to share the same frequency band.
  3. Analysis of interference between RFID and GSM.
  4. An assessment of a typical Brazilian application involving the movement of tagged goods on a conveyor.

See RFID Brazil Plugtests Event Page for more information.

CoAP#2 Plugtests

Date: 27 – 30 November 2012
Location: Sophia-Antipolis, France

Following the success of the first CoAP event, ETSI has been decided to organize a second event in 2012. Similar to the first event, conformance and interoperability test scenarios based on the IETF CoRE standards for M2M

The event has allowed participants to assess for the interoperability of different CoAP implementations for features including:

  • The base CoAP specification
  • CoAP Block Transfer
  • CoAP Observation
  • The CoRE Link Format

See CoAP#2 Plugtests Event Page for more information.

CoAP#1 Plugtests

Date: 23 – 25 March 2012
Location: Paris, France, co-located with IETF#83

The Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) is a key component of ETSI’s M2M architecture. ETSI’s Centre for Testing and Interoperability (CTI) has organizing an IoT CoAP Plugtests.

The event focused on the conformance and interoperability of the IETF CoRE standards for M2M, focusing on CoAP.
