Xavier Piednoir
Technical Officer
Xavier is the Technical Officer in charge of the Smart Card Platform in ETSI since 2007. In addition to supporting ETSI TC SCP, he also provides support to the 3GPP CT6 working group, in charge of the 3GPP UICC applications (mostly (U)SIM and ISIM applications). Xavier also has a hands-on experience of R&D and standardisation processes as he previously spent 6 years in France Telecom's R&D division where he was a smart card expert providing support and internal consulting for both local and international mobile operations (Orange global). In addition, he was involved in the work carried on the NFC and mobile ticketing topics.
Xavier has been involved in ETSI TC SCP and 3GPP CT6 as a delegate since 2003 and was elected chairman of the ETSI TC SCP Requirements working group, a position he held until moving to ETSI.
Xavier holds a Master Degree in Computer Science from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Caen with a special focus on Smart Card and Network Security.
