Chairman: Victor Dominguez The project will progress the necessary standards and specifications to cover the provision of voice and data services over the mains power transmission and distribution network and/or in-building electricity wiring. The standards will be developed in sufficient detail to allow interoperability between equipment from different manufacturers and co-existence of multiple powerline systems within the same environment. Harmonized Standards will be developed to allow presumption of conformity with the relevant EU/EC Directives. |
In particular, the Project will take into account:
- Phased development of standards in a timely fashion in support of phased roll out of powerline systems.
- Technical requirements to avoid interference with users of the radio spectrum (this will be subcontracted to TC ERM).
Coordination has been done with other standard making bodies, and in particular CENELEC. ERC will also be consulted, with the help of ETSI TC ERM WG RM. This is defined in detail in the TC PLT Terms of Reference.
The Terms of Reference have been fully endorsed by ETSI Board #24.
