TC AT Working Group Features
Terms of Reference
WG Features is a part of TC AT. In practice it will be
closely linked with WG Digital and Analogue within TC AT and liase with other
TB’s, within and outside of ETSI, especially TISPAN and TC HF.
WG Features recognises that certain elements of the various
terminals may be under the responsibility of other TB’s, both within and
outside of ETSI.
WG Features will act as a focal point within ETSI for matters
concerning terminals and these accesses.
TC AT WG Features is responsible for the production and
maintenance of ETSI deliverables for terminals and accesses in the following
technologies:
- development of features in terminals, especially those with analogue
interface and supporting services similar to services already implemented
e.g. in ISDN;
- consistency with general service descriptions and principles;
- identify needs of extension of the existing signalling protocol to cater
for new services;
- Especially for FSK, but not excluding other methods and protocols to be
identified later:
- investigate the possibilities of further harmonisation of the existing
signalling protocols;
- create a conformance test specification for the local loop protocol (in
collaboration with PTCC);
- ways of ensuring that the terminal will be able to interpret correctly
the information in the protocol (in collaboration with PTCC).
