NGN at Home Summary

NGN@Home is the part of ETSI Committee Access and Terminals AT responsible for deliverables relating to Next Generation Networks [NGN] in the Home environment. The Terms of Reference specify the most relevant guidance for the AT experts to progress and satisfy the market needs in this promising area.

NGN@Home refers to existing Network Access technologies and will cover the characteristics and functionality of devices on the Internet that may use the various access networks to transport information across the Home Access Network to the end devices on the Home Local Network.

NGN@Home facilitates interoperability between the various Home Network end devices and various home hub technologies and will provide a standardised approach to Next Generation Networks at Home and in home intelligent device technologies.

NGN@Home co-operates with TB’s or WG’s, within and outside ETSI, and contribute to the global usage of standards. Cooperation activities in this sector were initiated at ICTSB for Smart House Standards (SHSSG).

The ETSI Work Program EWP offers regularly updated information on the evolution of the work in the TBs, including responsible experts and supporting organisations.

Active participation and information exchange of interest to the ETSI membership is made via the AT-N exploder list. Further details are available on AT Portal.
