Title Zero-touch network and Service Management (ZSM); Framework for Intent-Driven Operation Orchestration in Agent-Based End-to-End Service Management Domains
Framework for Intent-Driven Operation Orchestration in Agent-Based E2ES MD
Scope and Field
of Application
The present work item specifies a functional framework for intent-driven Operations Orchestration in Agent-Based End-to-End Service Management Domains (E2ES MD). It defines the internal functions needed to transform intents into executable workflows, including intent interpretation, task decomposition, planning, workflow orchestration, runtime execution, exception handling, and outcome assessment. The framework is applicable to E2ES MD closed-loop operational scenarios such as network optimization, fault handling, configuration change, and service recovery. The present work item is limited to internal orchestration capabilities within E2ES MD. It is intended to align with and build on relevant work in ETSI GR ZSM 020 and ETSI GS ZSM 022 for agent communication, registration and discovery, semantic interoperability, and cross-domain coordination, where applicable, rather than redefining these aspects. It does not specify external interfaces, protocol bindings, underlying network configuration protocols, or implementation-specific AI algorithms. It is intended to provide a technology-neutral functional basis for intent-driven orchestration in E2ES MD, complementary to other work on agent communication, semantic interoperability, and higher-level architectures.
