Safety Technical Specification for Lithium Batteries in Telecom Sites (TA-ITU:L.L.TLCsafe_bat)
Scope and Field
of Application
This document specifies the safety technical requirements for lithium-iron phosphate battery cells and battery systems used in telecommunications applications. It is applicable to the technical requirements and safety evaluation methods for lithium batteries used in communication energy systems. The objective is to require relevant communication lithium battery suppliers to design, test, inspect and deliver communication lithium batteries in accordance with consistent and standardized technical requirements, thereby ensuring the application safety of lithium batteries throughout their entire lifecycle in telecom sites and so reducing the risks of fire, harmful gas emissions and network service disruptions at telecom sites (including core equipment room).
