Scope and Field of Application |
The work item will define the architecture, functional requirements, and performance targets of ultra-reliable Wavelength-Switched Optical Network (WSON) with the focus on data-centre interconnection for deterministic performance. It specifies mechanisms enabling sub-50 ms protection and restoration across optical paths, covering wavelength-level switching using Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS), optical control-plane, and failure-recovery strategies. The work focuses on ensuring deterministic service continuity and ultra-fast resilience in large-scale data-centre and cloud-network environments among others, supporting AI-intensive and time-sensitive applications. | ||||||
