|
Scope and Field of Application |
This document serves as a practical companion to the MIMS specification standard, providing implementation guidance and real-world applications of the Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs) in European smart city contexts. The guide aims to accelerate the adoption of MIMs by providing practical, implementation-focused guidance that complements the normative specifications. It will serve as a bridge between technical standards and real-world deployment, incorporating lessons learned from pioneer cities and addressing common implementation challenges. The scope of this companion document encompasses: • Use Case Development and Analysis. It will develop 2-3 comprehensive use cases that demonstrate the practical application of MIM 1 (Context Information Management), MIM 2 (Data Models), and MIM 7 (Places) in integrated scenarios. • Requirements Extraction: for each use case, the document will extract and document functional and non-functional requirements and map these requirements to relevant MIMs specifications. Implementation profiles representing different city capability levels may be proposed. • Practical Implementation Guidance. It will provide technical workflows and integration patterns demonstrating how the MIMs work together as well as data flow diagrams showing how information traverses between systems using the MIMs It may refer to existing open-source implementations from running initiatives. |
