Title Study of impact of introducing in the fixed network new modulation techniques for enhanced spectrum efficiency -
 
Scope and Field
of Application
While current fixed network standards have been designed for single-carrier modulation, the new Work Item aims at studying the impact of introducing a new modulation techniques to enhance the spectrum efficiency. In particular, potential revision of spectrum masks should be studied as well as impact on the coexistence with current FS modulation techniques.
The study should consider also the applicability to the new modulation techniques to the basic regulatory parameters and other radio elements presently given in EN 302 217-2 (e.g. spectral efficiency classes, minimum RIC, reference modulation, ACM, ATPC/RTPC, channel aggregation).
