Scope and Field
of Application
The present document specifies technical characteristics and methods of measurements for railway radar applications within 76 GHz - 77 GHz. Possible use-cases are: peripheral detection, detection below and above the railway vehicle (ERC REC 70-03 Annex 5) and fixed sensors for Railway/Road Crossings obstacle detection system (ERC REC 70-03 Annex 4). The work includes a detailed description of the technical wanted performance criteria, RX-requirements and fixed limits for all requirements based on clear test procedures. The revision is necessary to cover all relevant requirements under article 3.2 of the RED (EC request, see ERM action point 68/02).
