Scope and Field of Application	The HGI service providers, starting from their own business requirements and use cases, and with the consultation of HGI vendor companies, have set out the key requirements for wireless home area networks (WHANS). A WHAN is a wireless technology that links a Home Gateway with Smart-Home end devices. While Wi-Fi is very commonly used to support broadband subscriber access and streaming services, the WHANs are typically used to support IOT services where low power and security are among the key requirements. This document provides guidelines for developers of wireless home networking products and for technology associations, and allows service providers to make a comparison among technologies by itemizing specific requirements in the following technical areas - installation and configuration -performance -management and maintenance -connectivity management -security
