Scope and Field of Application |
This work item will develop a comprehensive list of cryptographic algorithm and protocol standards relevant to the ICT industry. This work item will also track any on-going work to make those standards quantum safe. Relevant information may include reference information on cryptographic algorithms, current key lengths, the degree to which each algorithm is thought to be quantum safe and how this might be achieved. There is ongoing work in this area that provides a partial view of the quantum safe cryptographic algorithms and protocols but the aim of this work item will be to establish a fuller set of references in a single place. An example of this ongoing work is noted at IETF (PQUIP). This work item is likely to require significant liaison with other SDOs. SDOs/WGs may include IETF, 3GPP SA3, SA3-LI, ISO, CEN / CENELEC FGQT, ITU-T SG17, IEEE P1943, NIST and ETSI groups (including ISG QKD, SC SAGE and ISG ZSM). There may be benefit in extending the liaison to additional bodies such as WEF, Linux Foundation, O-RAN Alliance, etc. The resulting Technical Report is likely to require periodic updates. |
