Title |
Environmental Engineering (EE); Fixed Network Energy Efficiency definition and measurement Fixed network EE (TA-ITU:L.FNEE) |
||||||
Scope and Field of Application |
This standard will define the network-level energy efficiency of end-to-end of fixed networks, which includes energy efficiency rating (EER) definition and assessment method. The fixed network includes transmission network, network side equipment of access equipment and IP network, which is used to connect and transmit data among end users and service providers. Base stations and CPE/ONT are considered out of scope of the fixed network. The EER definition and assessment method will consider multiple network characteristics, such as bandwidth, transmission distance, network protection, service availability, coverage area, etc. Consideration will be made to define fixed network boundary to consider the coverage of Operator network at region/country level. Furthermore, the standard will consider to provide guidance on the use of the defined EER to improve network energy efficiency or this could be better defined in a second stage. |
