TERMS OF REFERENCE

WORKING GROUP ON SATELLITE DIGITAL RADIO (SDR)

Scope

To produce Technical Specification(s) or other ETSI deliverables for a Satellite Digital Radio system.

Responsibility

ETSI TC-SES gives mandate to this Working Group to produce Technical Specification(s) for Satellite Digital Radio (SDR) systems.

The Working Group will define the Technical Specifications for radio interfaces used by SDR systems to receive signals from the satellite and from the complementary terrestrial transmitters.

The working group shall also investigate whether there is a need to produce Harmonised Standards for transmitting elements of SDR systems, such as earth stations operating in the FSS uplink or complementary terrestrial transmitters.

Liaison

The working group will liaise with any relevant body, inside and outside ETSI, on matters regarding the development of standards for SDR systems.
