Scope and Field of Application |
The work item will analyse use cases for data management in NFV. In more detail, the work will examine: a) the data that are within the scope of Telco Cloud operations in NFV; b) mechanisms for data registration, data discovery, and data access, with the aim of identifying NFV-specific requirements for a unified NFV framework and interfaces that enable Telco Cloud components, such as Platform and Applications, to exchange data efficiently and consistently; c) investigate existing standardized data models and formats, ensuring interoperability across multi-vendor and multi-domain environments. In addition, this work item will investigate aspects related to management high-volume data streaming and use of message bus technologies for reliable, scalable and low-latency data transport across Telco Cloud components, resources and services. Analysis of relevant standards and specifications regarding data management framework will be also performed to ensure alignment among SDOs and avoid duplication of existing work. The work item includes an informative study part as well as recommendations that will serve as normative provisions. |
