| Title |
Speech and multimedia Transmission Quality (STQ); Single-ended perceptual measure of perceived listening effort for speech communication systems M-Measure framework |
Scope and Field of Application |
The work will specify a single-ended measure to quantify and assess the signal quality of transmitted and/or processed speech, and which is correlated to human auditory perception, like e.g., perceived listening effort. It is intended to be used for the evaluation of (but not limited to) speech synthesis and reproduction systems under realistic acoustical conditions (such as e.g., background noise and reverberation), for which no reference signal is available. The measure can also be applied to speech transmission systems (including live monitoring) and terminals in sending/receiving direction under realistic acoustic conditions. |
