Scope and Field of Application |
This new work item will analyze the use cases, capabilities and features of computing and network convergence, and study how NFV can evolve and be utilized to support its implementation and deployment. For example, the work item may study whether new management objects are needed to be introduced to NFV management system to support computing and network convergence tasks requested by applications like XR, AI assistance, etc. The work item may also study what are the impacts to the MANO system regarding how network and compute resources could be scheduled coherently to fulfill the SLA requirements of the tasks, how to achieve unified management across distributed sites, etc. The work item will reference other organizations’ work to determine the relationship with NFV and the associated work. | ||||||
