Title
Electronic Signatures and Infrastructures (ESI); Procedures for Creation and Validation of AdES Digital Signatures; Part 3: Extended validation procedures; Sub-part 1: Introduction and general problematic Procedures for Creation and Validation of AdES Digital Signatures;
Scope and Field of Application
EN (3)19 102-1 lays down the rules how to validate a specific signature format. The Extended validation procedures provide rules that a validation service can follow to decide if a document might be wrongly interpreted, even if the signed bytes have not changed. Subpart 1 covers the introduction, and some general risks which can appear independent of the signature format, e.g. the signed bytes contain a macro that changes the appearance depending on the current date, so the appearance can change without changing the bytes and thus invalidating the signature.
