Scope and Field of Application |
This Report explains concisely, for decision makers at policy and technical level, the value of basing SmartCity deployments on standards, considering issues such as cost savings, risk management, legal compliance, avoidance of vendor lock-in, replicability across multiple city departments and cities, impact on funding opportunities, etc. The role of EU-wide (e.g. SmartM2M, TC CYBER, CEN/CENELEC) or global standards (e.g. oneM2M, ITU-T) in relation to national standards and relevant alliances (e.g. AIOTI) should be addressed. The style of the report is intended to be re-usable (in part) for a whitepaper and to include results of a questionnaire answered by SmartCities. | ||||||
