Title Short Range Devices (SRD) using Ultra Wide Band technology (UWB); Harmonised standard for access to radio spectrum; Part 6:Ultra Wide Band radio-determination for radar sensing devices; Sub-part 2: Requirements for generic UWB through-air non-contact vital signs applications within 6,0 GHz to 8,5 GHz
Generic UWB through-air non-contact vital signs
Scope and Field
of Application
This work item to amend the former version of EN 302 065-1 V2.1.1 is targeting to address the request of the EU desk officer. This includes a detailed description of the wanted performance requirement, RX-requirements and fixed limits for all requirements based on a clear test procedure.
Therefore, this EN will cover through-air non-contact vital signs detection sensors operating in the frequency bands from 6.0 GHz to 9.0 GHz for fixed (indoor only), mobile or portable.
Example of equipment covered by this work item are sensors for measuring respiration rate, heart-rate or heart-rate variability from an offset position, sensors for measuring sleep, sleep-stages, drowsiness, vigilance, sensors for detecting health conditions based on vital signs etc. The common property of these applications is that vital signs are measured through air from a distance away from the object / human based on very small object / body mechanical movements.
Equipment covered by the present document operates in accordance with ECC/DEC(06)04 and its amendments. A first collection of open points which shall be considered (in addition) are uploaded as: TGUWB[17]040001 and TGUWB(17)040007
