3GPP TSG SA WG1 may be abbreviated by the term TSG-S1.
Definition of service and feature requirements,
Framework (architecture) for services,
Specification of services (stage 1),
Specification of service capabilities (stage 1),
Identification of technical and operational issues to meet market requirements,
Charging and accounting requirements.
Service requirement issues applicable to a 3rd generation communication technology based on an evolved GSM core network, independent of access techniques (e.g. cellular, fixed, cordless and satellite).
Collection and review of all the relevant work of the Partner Organisations, as identified during TSG-S#1, including completed specifications, work currently in progress and planned work items.
Definition of appropriate work packages, as described in 3GPP Tdoc TSG#1(98)067. These work packages should detail the deliverables, work content and schedule. A rapporteur should be selected for each package.
Construction of a work program based on the work packages.
Decision on which baseline documents to use from the various partners as the basis for each of the deliverables.
Identification of external work packages and relationships, together with liaison representatives.
The outputs of this working group will be specifications and reports, or changes to these, which are all submitted to TSG SA for approval. Once approved they shall form the basis for the work for the whole of 3GPP
