What we do

The objective of STF593 is to provide OpenAPI™ Specification (OAS, a.k.a. Swagger)  and protocol buffer language (proto3) representations for the released ETSI MEC API specifications.
The OAS/Proto3 representations are especially useful for implementers that can auto-generate accurate boilerplate client and server code with the help of existing toolchains.

For more details, see our Terms of Reference

Why we do it

The ISG MEC has specified a set of service APIs targeted for use by MEC applications and services deployed in an edge environment ( https://www.etsi.org/committee/1425-mec ).  Developers can browse and download OAS compliant descriptions for these APIs on the ETSI Forge site ( https://forge.etsi.org/rep/mec ). As existing specifications have evolved and new specifications were released, their counterpart OAS representations have not been updated or generated.  As a result, many API OAS representations are currently not available to implementers. To foster adoption of the ETSI MEC APIs, it is therefore necessary to update the Forge OAS representations and  make these files openly available.

How we do it

The STF is composed of technical experts from Nextworks and InterDigital who will, in coordination with the MEC DECODE Working Group and STF Steering Committee, produce the OAS and Proto3 representations with the goal of making OAS and Proto3 representations available on ETSI Forge site.
