The home page consists of a top bar and service windows as follows:
Flash News (see Flash News help).
Latest News (see Latest News help).
The Meeting Calendar (see Meeting Calendar help).
ETSI Publications (see ETSI Publications help).
ETSI Membership Information (see ETSI Membership Information help).
Services Index provides links to various services provided by ETSI as well as to external links of interest to the user.
In Services Index, each section can be collapsed
or expanded
individually from each other. The full service is also resized according to the height of the sections (closed or open). The user will retrieve the Services Index sections in the state they have been left (cookie based).
The top bar remains constant throughout the portal and appears on top of all portal pages. There are two exceptions:
- It is possible to open a service in a new window using the
icon in each service.
- Some of the links in the portal lead to either static pages in the portal or information on the ETSI web site. These open in a separate window where the portal top bar is not displayed.
The top bar consists of links to various sources of information, services and ETSI Bodies.
To return to the default home page of the portal from any other page which contains the top bar, click on the 'ETSI Collaborative Portal' logo.
The date, time and location of ETSI premises are displayed on the top right hand side, together with your email address once you have logged in.
Useful links are classified within categories:
- People: applications on people's information and access.
- Manage: applications on users' data.
- Approval: vote and approval applications.
- Guide: directives and other sources of information from specific applications.
- Help: "ETSI Collaborative Portal" help, FAQs, and other helpful links.
- Comments: opens a change request form to be filled in. This mechanism enables you to suggest changes or report bugs on the portal and allows you to follow-up the change requests you (or others) have made. For help on filling in the input form see below.
- Updates: a list of all recent updates to the portal. The items will remain marked as NEW for two weeks from the displayed date.
- Search: ETSI search engines (the ETSI Portal, the ETSI Web, the 3GPP Web or ETSI Docbox) - make your choice from the drop down menu. Only Docbox is password protected.
Move your mouse over the above buttons to see each list of links.
Above the Body tab bar is also the place for links to new/revised applications/services or special information.
The other elements are:
- The ETSI logo:
enables users to visit the ETSI web site (www.etsi.org)
- Login:
this is the area where customization of the ETSI Collaborative portal is possible.
Various customization tools enable you to save and display the information you have
selected on specific ETSI Bodies. To log off, quit the browser.
- My ETSI:
displays the services you have selected from the individual ETSI Body tabs in the ETSI Bodies menu.
In order to use My ETSI, first select an ETSI Body of your interest. If you wish to save any service from the chosen ETSI Body, click on the anchor icon
which is always located next to the
at the top of each service. The service will then be "pinned" to your "My ETSI" page and this means that when clicking on "My ETSI" on the top bar, your selected services will appear.
Services can be removed from "My ETSI" by clicking on the
icon which replaces the anchor icon
once the service has been placed in "My ETSI".
- Personalize: enables the user to select only those ETSI Bodies and services of interest.
- Body Selector:
clicking on a particular Body will display all the services related to that Body
(see ETSI Body help below).
By default the information displayed in each service relates to the parent
Body and all of its active Sub-Groups. This information will be saved
and recovered at the next logon. By default Personalize includes all ETSI Bodies.
Select the Body(ies) required using the arrows (<< or >>
select/unselect all, < or > select/unselect one) and click on "Ok". After
this, only your chosen Bodies will appear in the top ETSI Bodies menu and will
be saved for your next connection to the portal. This of course may be
modified at any time by simply selecting Personalize again.
- Multi-Body Services:
the user can combine several Bodies within the same service
(see Multi-Body Services help below).
- Sub-Body menu bar:
each time a particular Body is selected, the associated
Sub-Groups (if any) will apear in a new menu bar beneath the Body Selector menu bar and the text "Body Selector"
changes to show the name of the Body and provides a link to "Select Sub-Groups".
The default display for this menu bar provides links to:
- The parent Body - to allow the details of the Body only to be viewed.
- All active Sub-Groups - to allow the details of each individual Sub-Body to be viewed.
- A link called "All of these" which allows the details of the entire Body (parent + Sub-Groups) to be viewed.
Note that the default selection is equivalent to "All of these" (i.e. the Body and all its
Sub-Groups). This means that the "All of these" link is only active (usable) once a particular
Body/Sub-Body has been selected.
The default display of Sub-Groups in the Sub-Body menu bar can be changed by
clicking on the "Select Sub-Groups" link.
- Select Sub-Groups:
Clicking on this link provides a list of active
Sub-Groups for the chosen Body. You can select any of the Sub-Groups according to your needs,
once you have clicked on "Ok" the choice will be saved and each time you select this Body in the
future, only the Sub-Group(s) you have selected will be displayed.
Note that if you only select one Sub-Group, no Sub-Body menu bar will appear for this Body.
If you are interested in the work of a closed Sub-Group, a
link "Include Non-active ETSI Bodies" is provided to allow you to select such
groups. Of course many of the services are likely to show little or no
information.
Most of the services in the portal provide dynamically generated information extracted
from ETSI databases. This service provides a series of links to static pages which
provide you with general information related to the selected Body/Sub-Groups.
Note that although the pages are static, they are often updated.
Each ETSI Body has a different set of pages suited to its needs, examples of the kind of topics covered are:
- Terms of Reference.
- Information on mailing lists.
- Links to relevant web sites (internal and external).
- Meeting documents for Board, ETSAG, FC, GA and OCG (each ETSI Body has a separate services for meeting documents).
Some concrete examples of what you will find are listed below:
Full name of the selected Body:
The full name of the acronym you selected. E.g. TIPHON = Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Harmonization Over Networks.
ETSI Body support team (e.g. BRAN support):
Obtain information about the ETSI Secretariat
people providing support to the selected ETSI Body and contact them. This currently only apply to the
Technical Bodies (Board, ETSAG, FC, GA, OCG are excluded).
ETSI Body support mailbox (e.g. TIPHONsupport@etsi.org):
Use this mail address to send requests or comments
concerning the selected ETSI Body. Your mail will be treated by the ETSI Body support team. This currently only
apply to the Technical Bodies (Board, ETSAG, FC, GA, OCG are excluded).
Terms of Reference (ToR):
View the Terms of Reference for the selected Body. For the "Board" it
is "Powers & Functions".
Summary:
View a summary of the activities of the selected ETSI Body. This currently only
apply to the Technical Bodies (Board, ETSAG, FC, GA, OCG are excluded).
Last year's activity report:
You can view the last year's activity report for the selected ETSI Body. You can
also look at the last year's complete ETSI annual report. This currently only apply to the Technical Bodies (Board, ETSAG, FC, GA, OCG are excluded).
The Flash News service provides information items internal to the ETSI Organization.
The news items scroll automatically. To stop the scrolling, just move your mouse over the Flash News window.
Manual scrolling, forwards and backwards, is available by using the arrow buttons on the right-hand side of the window.
When available, a link on the text takes you to more information.
The Latest News service shows the 10 most recent news articles.
Two types of news are available :
- Technical News (displayed with "(T)").
- Press Releases (displayed with "(P)").
By default, both types of news are displayed. But you can select either Technical, or Press, or both
by clicking the relevant type on the top left of the window.
The "Full search" link takes you to the "ETSI News" application that allows you to
search all news articles.
When used as a Multi-Body service
(see Multi-Body Services section ),
pointing the mouse over the links within the "Body
common news" section will reveal Bodies concerned with the news.
The Meeting Calendar service allows you to view the meetings of your chosen ETSI Body and/or its Sub-Groups,
according to the selection you have previously made
(see Body Selector).
Moreover, this service allows you to register / un-register for some of the meetings.
The default view in the Meeting Calendar service is 'Month' for the home page, and 'Half year' for
ETSI Body pages. (*) indicates that the default selection is not
the current week as well as the presence of a cookie.
This view shows all the meetings taking place during the current week for :
- The whole of ETSI when displaying the Portal home page.
- Your chosen Body after having selected an ETSI Body. The week number and dates are also displayed.
It includes meetings hosted at both the ETSI Secretariat and elsewhere. (*) indicates that the default selection
is not the current week as well as the presence of a cookie.
From the drop down menu there are four (4) other possible choices:
- Month:
this displays all meetings taking place during the current month - even if they have been
finalized or cancelled. The month date is also displayed (e.g.: This month
2001-06-01 to 2001-06-30) along with the total number of meetings found.
- Quarter:
this displays all meetings scheduled for the current quarter. The date of the quarter is also
displayed (e.g.: This Quarter 2001-04-01 to 2001-06-30) along with the total
number of meetings.
-
Half-year:
this displays all meetings scheduled for the current half-year. The date is displayed along
with the total number of meetings.
- Year:
this displays all meetings scheduled for the current year. The date is also displayed along
with the total number of meetings.
Once a choice has been made from the drop down menu, the "OK" button on the right hand side of the service must be
clicked in order to validate the choice.
There is also the possibility of filling in a particular date i.e. 2001-06-19 which will display all meetings which
start on or after this date. The drop down menu may also be used in order to see all meetings for a particular period
(e.g. week, month) from this particular date. When a date is entered in this way, the default start date for the chosen
period is set to the beginning of the week (Sunday) in which the user-entered date falls.
The - and + buttons on the far right of the service may be used to move up or down within the calendar. If 'Week' is
selected then the calendar will move up or down by one week, if month is selected the calendar will move up or down by
one month etc.
Once a list of meetings is displayed the date, title, registration and location of all those meetings will be displayed. When a
meeting is cancelled or modified this information will also be displayed.
The registration column contains:
- In anonymous mode: a button
to allow you to registerfor this meeting.
- In logged-in mode: an indication whether you are registered to this meeting or not (i.e.
Yes = you are registered,
No = you are not registered). If the registration is opened for this meeting, you can register by clicking on
No, or cancel your registration by clicking on
Yes.-->
All meetings are ordered by date only and this may not be changed.
In order to get more details about a certain meeting there is a link from the meeting title which leads directly to the
Meeting Information page. This is where such details as meeting identifier, meeting type, list of participants, document
area, meeting documents may be found.

- Active WI(s) status information:
- Active WI(s) management reports:
- WI(s) general information:
This service displays information about the work programme of your chosen ETSI Body and/or its Sub-Groups,
according to the selection you have previously made (see Body Selector).
The results displayed show:
- Total number of work items (WIs) meeting your selected
criteria in the form (for example) "33 WIs, on vote, displaying 1 to 30". If
you have selected more than 1 option from the Select WI screen, you
will be informed that you have made a multiple selection (e.g. "33 WIs, multiple
selection, displaying 1 to 30"). In the event that there are greater than 30
WIs, you may select more WIs by using the "Previous" and "Next" buttons at the
bottom of the service.
- The Work item Reference number, together with the ETSI
Document number (when available) are shown, e.g. "DTR/TM-00001 (ETR 307)".
Clicking on the link associated with the WI reference leads to the detailed
record in the work programme.
-
Note:
Each WI normally leads to the production of a single document (deliverable). The WI reference is
the identifier given to the deliverable at the start of its life. Once an ETSI Body approved document
exists, the deliverable is then given an ETSI document number.
- The version number of the document is also shown.
- The current status of the work item is displayed, together with the achieved date. Clicking on the link will lead to the schedule of the WI recorded in the work programme.
- The access and/or download of an ETSI Standard is available
(
)
(see Download Service)
Selecting WIs:
By clicking on "Select WI" at the bottom of the service, you are able to select various sets of WIs from
the main stages in the ETSI Standards Making Process as described below.
Note:
The default display (at initial log-on and before you have made any selection) is to show all WIs that are currently in progress
(see below for more details on work in progress). This represents the work programme currently in force for the selected
ETSI Body and/or Sub-Groups. (*)Indicates the presence of a cookie.
The obtainable results have been sorted into 3 main groups of queries, as described in sections 1 to 3 below.
It is possible to construct queries that select items from 1, 2 or all of the 3 groups. For example select "On Vote" from the first group, "On Schedule" from the second group and "Stopped" from the third group and you will see all WIs on vote AND all WIs that are on schedule AND all stopped WIs.
For this reason, multiple queries of this nature should be defined with care as it may be difficult to interpret the results. In general, it is not recommended that you mix queries from the 3 groups - instead the use of "Full search" is recommended.
Full Search:
if you wish to carry out a detailed search for WIs that is not fulfilled by one of the pre-defined queries provided in this service, this link leads to the full ETSI Work Programme (EWP) application which allows you to develop refined queries, according to your needs.
-
Active WI(s) status information:
this provides a set of reports, which can be viewed individually or together, for WIs which are currently being worked on by the TB or have been finalized and are still valid (Published & completed).
New Work Items:
recently created WIs which are currently flagged as new in the ETSI work programme (EWP).
Drafting stage:
WIs where a draft deliverable is being prepared and has not yet reached ETSI Body approval.
ETSI Body approval stage:
WIs undergoing approval in the ETSI Body. This includes both the WG approval stage (where it is used) and the ETSI Body approval stage.
Secretariat Processing:
this encompasses two possible sets of deliverables. Firstly, all those which have
been ETSI Bodies approved and received by the ETSI Secretariat for further processing prior to the next stage.
Secondly, in the particular case of European Standards (ENs), those ENs being processed for Vote after completion
of the Public Enquiry (and its ensuing resolution process).
on Public Enquiry:
this applies to ENs only and refers to those ENs which have been sent on the Public
Enquiry phase of the ETSI Two-step Approval Procedure (TAP).
On Resolution:
for ENs which have completed their Public Enquiry and the comments received are currently being considered by the ETSI Bodies.
On Vote:
this encompasses three possible sets of deliverables. Firstly, for ENs where the Public Enquiry
and resolution phases of the ETSI TAP have been completed and the deliverables have been sent for Vote. Secondly,
for ENs on the ETSI One-step approval procedure (OAP) which combines the Public Enquiry and Voting procedures into
one phase. Finally, for ETSI Standards (ESs) and ETSI Guides (EGs) which are under Membership approval in the ETSI
Member Voting system (MV).
Published & Completed:
published covers all ETSI document types which have been adopted according to the appropriate procedures and
therefore published. This includes ENs (TAP or OAP), ESs and EGs (MV) and Technical Specifications (TSs) and Technical
Reports (TRs) adopted by the responsible ETSI Body.
Completed WIs:
covers the special case of miscellaneous WIs (MI type) where the work has been completed. There
is no deliverable type associated with an MI which usually relates to (e.g. a study item with no output document).
Work in progress:
(or WIP) this shows all the WIs in all the stages above prior to Publication or Completion (specifically New WIs, Drafting stage, TB approval stage, Secretariat processing, on Public Enquiry, on Resolution and on Vote).
It therefore represents the set of WIs upon which the ETSI Body is currently working, i.e. the work programme currently in force.
All active Work Items:
this shows all the active WIs for the selected Body, which includes all WIs in all the above states, that is, WIP and Published and Completed. This can also be obtained by clicking on the "Select all" link.
Note that Stopped, Withdrawn, Historical and Transferred WIs will not be displayed - these can be viewed using the queries identified in section 3 below.
A multiple selection
(several tick boxes checked) can be cleared by clicking on the "Return to Default (WIP)" link.
-
Active WI(s) management reports:
this provides a set of (mutually exclusive) management reports to either draw attention to WIs that require some action to be taken (Overdue, Candidate for stopping and Deadline notification) or shows WIs where some action will need to be taken in the future (On schedule and Under construction).
Overdue WIs:
this shows the set of WIs for which the target date for the next milestone to be achieved is in the
past (and is therefore overdue). The target dates require updating.
Note that overdue WIs deals with the requirement to re-plan unachieved milestones which (by definition) should be in the future and therefore does not include candidates for stopping, which deals with the time delay since the last achieved date (in the past).
Candidates for stopping:
any WI where the last milestone to be completed was achieved over 12 months ago and is
therefore regarded as a candidate to be stopped, according to the ETSI Technical Working Procedures.
The WIs should normally be stopped by the responsible technical Body.
On Schedule:
the set of WIs where the target date for the next milestone to be achieved is in the future. This is the opposite of overdue WIs.
Deadline notification:
serves as a reminder for WIs where the target date for the next milestone to be achieved
is during the next 30 days and therefore may require attention by either the ETSI Body or the Secretariat.
Under construction:
the purpose of flagging WIs as under construction is to prevent them from being reported under the categories Overdue, Candidate for Stopping or Deadline notification, since they do not yet form part of the WIP for the TB.
They can be regarded as pending work and typical examples are:
i)
WIs intended to be worked on by STFs where the resources are unlikely to be available for some time.
ii)
Testing WIs planned at the same time as the base standard but where work cannot begin until the base standard has been substantially finalized.
iii)
"Mirror" documents - e.g. where a TS and an ES have the same technical content but the ES is not processed until after the TS has been finalized.
-
WI(s) general information:
this allows WIs for the selected Body to be viewed that have either never reached the publication or completion stage (stopped or transferred) or have been published but subsequently withdrawn or made historical. Only one of these categories can be selected at a time (since they are mutually exclusive).
Stopped WIs:
when a WI is no longer of interest to the members of an ETSI Body (typically identified
by a lack of contributions to its development), the ETSI Body may decide to stop the work. The WI then no longer forms
part of the active work programme.
Withdrawn WIs:
subsequent to publication, the ETSI Body may decide that it is appropriate to withdraw an ETSI document, usually because
it has been superseded in some way (e.g. a new document). Following the appropriate approval procedure, the WIs are
identified as Withdrawn (though they remain publicly available).
Historical WIs:
historical documents are those identified by the ETSI Body as no longer of relevance but
where there is insufficient interest or resources to carry out the necessary maintenance work implied by formally
withdrawing the document.
Transferred WIs:
it sometimes occurs that WIs are transferred to another ETSI Body due to
organizational changes. When this is the case the source WI is identified as Transferred.
Stansdstill data:
WIs of the type EN have standstill applied (according to ETSI Rules of Procedure, Article 13.3) and the dates of imposition or release (when appropriate) may be viewed.
Transposition data:
WIs of the type EN are transposed into national standards (according to ETSI Rules of Procedure,
Article 13.7) and details of the progress in each country may be viewed.

The ETSI Publications service allows you to view for the selected week,
the deliverables which have been:
- Published.
- Sent on Public Enquiry.
- Sent on One-step Approval Procedure, Vote or Member Vote.
In other words, each week you can use this service to view the documents which have most recently been made
publicly available by ETSI. You can also use it to view the archives for the last 6 months.
The service exists in 2 forms, covering either:
- The whole of ETSI when displaying the Portal home page.
- Your chosen Body after having selected an ETSI Body and/or Sub-Groups.
The default selection is the current week and you can use the drop-down menu provided to select another week
if desired (both the week number and dates are displayed). Additionally the - and + buttons on the far right
of the service may be used to move up or down within the menu. When you have selected the desired week please
press the "Ok" button and the results are displayed beneath as a set of links indicating how many documents
have been (e.g. published during that week).
Clicking on one of the
links will lead you to a screen which shows more details of the individual
documents, together with the possibility of:
- Free download of the PDF version of the document.
- Viewing the relevant record in the ETSI Work Programme database.
Note:
The publications service is not applicable for certain ETSI Bodies (Board, ETSAG, FC, GA, OCG and SAGE).
This service allows you to view the current officials of your chosen ETSI Body and/or its Sub-Groups,
according to the selection you have previously made (see Body Selector).
This service shows the following:
- The name of the selected ETSI Body and/or Sub-Bodies.
- The contact name links to the ETSI telephone directory and displays more details for the official,
e.g. phone, fax, email and the organization for which voting rights are held. This information is password
protected so an ETSI account is required.
- The Role is the responsibility the official holds
within the selected ETSI Body (e.g. Chairman).
- The Organization also links to the ETSI telephone directory and is also password protected. This area displays
details about the officials hiring organization including the official contact and any subsidiaries.
This service provides you with direct links to a Technical Bodies mailing list archives. It displays the most
recent emails sent on the selected mailing list and allows you to view them. It also lets you answer them with
your Web browser.
Note:
Answering an email from the mail archive interface requests that you are subscribed to that mailing
list and that you let the mailing list server install a cookie on your machine. Once identified you will also be
able to use that interface to modify your own settings in the list.
You can use the service to:
: View and search the archive (view discussions that take place on lists that you are not subscribed to).
: Join or leave the email list.
: Change your options.
: Post to list (use the mail archives as a forum without receiving the emails in your mailbox).
: Manage list (for owners only).
Why the service may not appear to work?
Some technical Bodies might have decided:
- To have no mail archive.
- To have their mailing lists archives restricted to list members only.
- To have their mail archives password protected.
- In the case that one or more of these alternatives apply, the mailing list archive might not be accessible to you.

This service allows you to retrieve the documents contributed to meetings of your chosen ETSI Body, and to
filter them by content type, according to the information provided by the person who created the document
and reserved the document number using the Automatic Document Numbering (ADN) function in the ETSI Calendar
of Meetings. This service can also be used to download one or several documents at the same time by selecting them first
The default display is all documents submitted to the previous meeting of the chosen Body.
How to use it?
Choose the meeting you want and select a content type filter from the drop-down menu and press "Ok". The service will retrieve all documents
that were reserved with that content type.
This service can be very useful to easily retrieve documents like meeting reports, attendee list, agenda, etc,.
It is possible to directly access the information related to the selected meeting from "(see details)".
Currently the content types that are available are the following:
- ALL:
No filter, all documents will be retrieved.
- Meeting Agenda:
the agenda for the meeting (and all its revisions if any) as well as the agenda for a
special session that took place during that meeting (e.g. Ad Hoc meeting,
Joint session with another group, Work Group session etc.).
- Meeting Report/minutes:
the minutes of that meeting (or possibly the draft), the approved minutes of a
previous meeting, or at any other meeting report that was contributed as a
document to that meeting.
- List of decisions/actions:
although most ETSI groups include their list or decisions/actions within
the meeting minutes, this type has been created to let them create a separate
document that will synthesize the decisions and actions in a short document.
This would allow those who attended the meeting to quickly view the list
without having to read the whole report.
- List of Participants:
usually used to indicate the list of participants and their details, i.e.
those who effectively attended the meeting.
- New WI proposal:
meetings often result in new Work Items proposals. These files often need to be retrieved,
amended, approved by the ETSI Body and entered by the ETSI Secretariat in the ETSI Work Programme.
Note:
New content types may be added in the future.
Why it might not provide the results you expected?
- The main reason why this service might not provide you with the results you expected is typically that the
"content type" was either not provided or not provided accurately when the document number was reserved.
If you notice this problem
inside your ETSI Body, please request other delegates to fill in the "content
type" field conscientiously when reserving a document.
- Another reason could also be that the selected ETSI Body does not use the ADN function in the Calendar
of Meeting to reserve and display meeting documents automatically. If that is the case for your ETSI Body, this
service will remain unusable until the situation within the ETSI Body is changed.
For comments, requests or bug reports please contact us via Helpdesk

Multi-Body Services is a portal service accessible from "My ETSI"
that permits to personalize the user workspace (e.g. a multi-Body Meeting Calendar
Service including 3GPP and BRAN) once you have logged in. It is the solution to make "My ETSI" lighter and more legible.
You will be able to display one service (e.g. Meeting Calendar) with several Bodies
rather than several Meeting Calendar Services with one Body each.
From My ETSI
The first time you access or if there is no service in My ETSI, an explanation text
will pop up to help you build your workspace.

This service displays the latest drafts available for your chosen ETSI Body and/or its Sub-Groups,
according to the selection you have previously made (see
Body Selector)
A latest draft in this context is a specific document which is related to an individual active and non publicly available work item.
All other versions of a latest draft (PE, OAP, Vote, etc.) are available from the Publication service.
The results displayed show:
- Total number of active, non published work items found for the selected ETSI Body and/or Sub-Groups (e.g. "43 active, non published WIs found, displaying 1 to 30").
- The working title.
- The ETSI Document number (e.g. "TS101 329-3").
- A link to the detailed record in the work programme is provided from the
icon.
- The Work item Reference number (e.g. "DTR/TIPHON-06014-1").
- The list of the last four available versions, for each draft the service displays:
- An upload icon
(
)
which allows the upload of a comment and/or the upload of a new draft version depending on your permissions (see
Upload Service).
Note 1: the upload facility is disabled
(
)
for the work items that are under TB Approval or TB resolution, they are "Frozen".
Note 2: the upload icon
(
)
appears only for logged users who have upload rights.
- A link to the list of comments files if any (e.g. (c), this link appears only for logged users).
This list provides a link to each comment file on the FTP server, the identity of the person who uploaded the comment along with the date of the upload.
- The version of the draft, if the file is available for download and the user is logged in a link is associated with the version number, click this link to download the draft.
- The status associated with the draft. There are two types of status: Working Draft and the status officially recorded in the ETSI work programme. Only in cases where the draft has been uploaded by the support officer and the work programme has been formally updated will the status be shown together with the achieved date. All other versions will be identified as a Working Draft.
- If more than four drafts are available, a "Show more drafts"
link is displayed, click this link to see the full list.
Note: Comments can only be uploaded when a draft physically exists and is available for download. Otherwise the only remaining upload function is the ability to upload a new draft version.
Additionally, the support officers can manage the existing drafts using the Management Interface accessible through the
icon.
Clicking this icon will open the "Management Interface" in a separte window from which they will be able to:
- Define the path to the drafts on the FTP server.
- Update the Work Item schedule by promoting working drafts to an official status.
Note: this functionality is also directly available inside the Latest Drafts service when it is enlarged.
New version or comments on extisting versions cannot be uploaded if the path to the drafts on the FTP server has not been defined yet.
To define the path to the FTP server:
- Either click the
icon or the
icon (then click the "Update" button in the upper right corner)
to open the Management Interface.
- The default path is displayed.
"Upload Service" is accessible from the "Latest Drafts" service. It allows EOL account holders to upload a comment on a draft and/or a new draft version (depending on user's permissions).
Note: Files are renamed upon upload, the name is derived from the Body, work item number and verion number.
A draft version may consists in a number of different files (e.g. with revision marks and without revision marks), these files should be zipped into a single archive that will be uploaded.
From "Latest Drafts" two types of documents can be uploaded:
- A comment file on a particular draft version
Only users having read only and/or update rights
on the Body FTP area are able to upload a comment.
- Choose the draft version you wish to comment by clicking on the associated upload icon (
), the upload window pops up.
- Select "Upload a comment on draft" option.
- Use the "free text" field to append free text to the file name, this field is optional.

On upload the file is renamed as follows: [Work Item Number]v[xxx]__[free text].zip where v[xxx] specifies the draft version.
Important notes:
- Upload is not available (
) for work items under TB Approval or TB Resolution.
- Uploaded files are scanned for viruses, zipped and renamed, thus the upload process (specially with large files) may last some time depending on the size of the file.
It is possible to print the content of a portal service on paper. After enlarging
(
)
a service, the printing icon
(
)
will appear on the top right hand-side of the window (except for some services where this function is not appropriate).
When a service is enlarged
(
),
i.e. a separate window is opened for the specific service, it is possible to display more information within this window in order to e.g. prepare the
printing of the content (see
Printing Function).
It is the case for the Work Item Monitoring service where the number of items to be displayed can be selected.
The
icon shrinks the service so that only the title heading remains visible. Aonther click on the same icon will make the service return
to its original size. The user will retrieve the services in the state they have been left (cookie based).
For all services hereafter, you may get a "0 [ ] found"
message after a search, it could be that:
- The information is not available (for example : "0
meeting(s) found" means that no meetings are entered for the selected period).
- The information is restricted (for instance for the FC, the last meeting output search result
is: "0 document(s) found"). In this case, you can access the information by going in the
ETSI Body General Information
part and click on Meeting documents
