Scope and Field of Application |
This work item defines policy and security requirements for Relying Party Intermediaries (RPIs) operating in the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) ecosystem. An RPI is an entity that acts on behalf of one or more Relying Parties when requesting or processing attributes from an EU Digital Identity Wallet. The specification covers: – Definition of the Relying Party Intermediary role and its variants within the EUDIW ecosystem – Policy requirements for RPIs, including authorisation, registration, contractual obligations toward Relying Parties and obligations toward the trust framework – Security requirements for RPIs, including requirements on presentation request handling, attribute data processing, channel security and access control – Requirements on the relationship between an RPI and the Relying Parties it acts for, including delegation and accountability – Conformity and audit considerations for RPIs |
