| Title |
Impacts of regulatory obligations on the energy efficiency of mobile networks Study of the relevant metrics to make mobile network regulatory obligations visible and fulfilled in an energy efficient manner |
Scope and Field of Application |
The purpose of this study work is to research and provide answers to the below questions: • How to best introduce EE metric(s) that would represent adequately and track the energy efficiency of delivering the regulatory required and minimum basic coverage and connectivity ? • How to represent and track the energy efficiency of delivering mobile network services on top of minimum service and coverage (which may vary from one operator to another) ? The scope should be similar to the scope of ETSI ES 203 228 (end-to-end mobile networks, user devices excluded), and the intent of the supplement should be to inform and guide further revision of both ETSI ES 203 228 and its technically equivalent ITU-T L.1331 standard to better cover there the relevant approach to the questions above. This study should be handled jointly between ETSI EEPS and ITU-T SG5/Q6. |
