Title Short Range Devices (SRD) using Ultra Wide Band technology (UWB); Harmonised standard for access to radio spectrum; Part 6: Ultra Wide Band radio-determination for radar sensing devices; Sub-Part 4: Requirements for fixed outdoor through-air non-contact vital signs applications within 6,0 GHz to 8,5 GHz
UWB vital signs fixed outdoor in 6 - 8,5GHz
Scope and Field
of Application
This EN will cover transceivers, transmitters or receivers utilising ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies for presence detection applications, operating at fixed outdoor positions in the 6,0 GHz to 8,5 GHz region based on ECC/DEC/(06)04, annex A1.3.1. Examples of equipment covered by this work item are sensors for measuring respiration rate, heart-rate or heart-rate variability from an offset position, sensors for measuring sleep, sleep-stages, drowsiness, vigilance, sensors for detecting health conditions based on vital signs etc. The common property of these applications is that vital signs are measured through air from a distance away from the object / human based on very small object / body mechanical movements. They operate on an unlicensed basis. The transmitting or transceiver terminals in these devices are intended for fixed outdoor use.
