Satellite Earth Stations & Systems (SES); WG HARM |

|
Scope and Field of Application |
At its SES-99 meeting it was decided to invite OneWeb to propose a new work item to review EN 303 981 with the aim of studying potential modifications to EN 303 981 (minimum elevation angle and protection of Radioastronomy) and convene a dedicated meeting on this topic. Currently, EN 303 981 includes two classes of stations; Class A and Class B. While this might be justified years ago, with the development of EN 303 980 certain overlapping may happen between the two standards, requiring to remove Class A earth station requirements and leaving Class B as the basis for EN 303981. In the future, there would be a risk that a type of earth station would be standardized in two different standards which would create confusion and risk of interpretation by market surveillance authorities. | ||||||
