Change Request (CR) handling
The maintenance of HiperLAN2
and HIPERACCESS
specifications is performed using Change Requests. The detailed specification of
the CR procedure is defined in clause 10 of the
BRAN
Handbook , this page provides just a
summary of the most important elements for those who are already familiar with
the process.
Any ETSI member can submit CRs
to any published HIPERLAN/2 or HIPERACCESS specification. The CRs are discussed and approved
during BRAN meetings. To learn when CR sessions take
place, see the timetable (generally document 003) of the particular meeting. The approved CRs are
incorporated into new draft versions of the specifications by the ETSI
Secretariat. These drafts are available in the CR folder
. New versions of documents affected by
CRs are generally published twice a year: after the June and December meetings.
In exceptional cases this practice may be changed by the BRAN plenary.
Two meeting documents are
provided for each meeting with the status of the CRs before and after the given
meeting.
How to prepare a CR
A checklist of preparing a CR
is given below.
|
1 |
Download the CR form from the CR
folder . |
|
2 |
Request a CR number from the BRAN
support team. Do not forget to indicate the ETSI number of the
specification you wish to change (e.g. TS 101 761-2), becuase a spearate
CR-number sequence exists for each specification. |
|
3 |
Reserve a document number for your CR (see
the invitation of the meeting
for details). |
|
4 |
Fill in all fields of the CR form carefully.
Do not forget to include the meeting information and the reserved document
number in the header of the form. |
|
5 |
Copy the changes from the specification to
the CR document using revision marks. IMPORTANT: always use the ETSI style
sheet, that can be downloaded from the
edithelp! pages! The basis for the CR should be the
latest draft specification in the CR folder
, or if no such draft exists, the
latest published version, which can be downloaded from the appropriate
subfolder of the Published
folder. |
|
6 |
When saving your CR document,
identify the CR in the file name, e.g. "BRAN24d123 H2 RLC
CR-056.zip". Note that it is important to zip the document and to
insert a space character between the document number and the rest of the
file name. |
|
7 |
Upload the document as described in the Invitation of the meeting
you wish to submit your CR to. |
